Light Sails

Description of the Light Sails Project

Completed in 1993 as CSCC's first Percent for Art commissioned project, Light Sails is a multi-piece sculpture by artist Beverly Precious. Part of the Nestor Hall construction project, this work was designed to relate to the site and act as a gathering place on Columbus State's campus.

Made up of cast concrete masts capped with stainless steel, the pieces support a sweeping gridwork of glass canvas and the "various glass shapes provide an evolving pattern of light and color." source
