The Elijah Pierce statue was erected in 2000. It sits on the Northeast corner of Long and Washington Streets. It is made of bronze and stands near the barber shop where Pierce used to work.
The statue is 10 feet tall and sits on two 8" risers. It was sculpted by Steven Weitzman, of Weitzman Studios in Brentwood, Maryland, who worked tirelessly to replicate the essence of Pierce.
