Understanding Industry Codes

NAICS Header

Many business reference resources and databases use Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) and North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) codes to categorize companies based on their industry. Although SIC codes have officially been replaced by NAICS codes, they are still widely used in many resources. You can find official guides to each set of codes on U.S. Government websites: SIC and NAICS Manual.
