I’m a self-taught photographer, and I’ve been making photographs for a long time. I mostly use film, and I use a variety of cameras: the standard 35mm and medium format, but also some panorama, toy, and pinhole cameras. They are all ways to have fun with the medium. I am a member of the Westbridge Camera Club in Columbus and the Fotoklub Exakta in Dresden (a sister city of Columbus). I am also a member of the Ohio Art League, and I am involved with the Facebook group The Art and Artists of 614.
For many years, I only exhibited black and white darkroom photographs. But along the way, I discovered color, and it was pretty cool! August's exhibit includes black and white photographs only.
My wife Claire and I live in Westerville, and we like to travel when we’re not playing with the grandkids. These photos were taken while travelling. Most were taken on vacation, but one or two were taken on a business trip. Claire and I had a plan. She would shop, and I would walk around town taking pictures. These photos are the fruits of Claire's shopping.
