OER Guide: Finding OERs

BCcampus is a Canadian governmental agency that supports higher education in British Columbia. Among their main priorities is the development of quality OER.

This is a math and science friendly platform to author, remix, host, and disseminate OER. "The LibreTexts mission is to unite students, faculty and scholars in a cooperative effort to develop an easy-to-use online platform for the construction, customization, and dissemination of open educational resources (OER) to reduce the burdens of unreasonable textbook costs to our students and society."

George Mason University Libraries developed an OER search engine which searches 15 of the best OER repositories with one search query.

The Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) is one of the oldest collections of OER. The collection is large and diverse.

MIT was among the pioneers of OER, creating their OpenCourseWare project more than 15 years ago. It remains among the most popular repositories for OER.

"Openly Available Sources Integrated Search (OASIS) is a search tool that aims to make the discovery of open content easier. OASIS currently searches open content from 80 different sources and contains 331,461 records."

This is a large collection of various OER managed by the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education. The content includes textbooks, sldeshows, documents, and other relevant materials.

This collection of OER includes courses and associated materials for a variety subjects; it is a project of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.

This resource page includes the OER being used by faculty at community colleges across Oregon.

A project of Rice University, OpenStax offers quality college textbooks for general education courses. Ancillary resources are available for many of these textbooks.

The University of Minnesota Center for Open Education's collection contains textbooks in a wide variety of subjects with a variety of Creative Commons license types.
