DPLA is a portal to the rich collections of America's libraries, archives, and museums. DPLA has curated primary source sets with teaching guides in the subjects of history, literature, science and technology, women's studies, arts, and more.

DOAB increases discoverability of open access, peer-reviewed academic books.

DOAJ provides access to over 9000 open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science and humanities.

The Open Library for Ontario's eCampus contains a curated collection of open textbooks that, due to eCampusOntario’s partnership with BCcampus, align with the top 40 highest enrollment, post-secondary subject areas.

Europeana provides cultural heritage enthusiasts, professionals, teachers, and researchers with digital access to European cultural heritage material.

GALILEO Open Learning Materials brings together open educational resources throughout the University System of Georgia, including open textbooks and ancillary materials.

InTechOpen's mission is to help academic professionals make an impact by offering readers free access to their publications. Book subjects include physical sciences, engineering, technology, life sciences, health sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more. Some, but not all of Internet Archive's material is in the public domain or carries an open license.

This site is a freely available archive of electronic texts about religion, mythology, legends and folklore, and occult and esoteric topics. Texts are presented in English translation and, where possible, in the original language.

More than 2,500 Open Access ebooks are now available at no cost to libraries or users. These titles reflect JSTOR’s high standards for quality content and are freely available for anyone in the world to use. Users won’t need to register or log in, and there are no DRM restrictions or limits on chapter PDF downloads or printing.

Started as a simple video lecture collection, Khan Academy is now an independent organization with materials including lectures and exercises for learning at all levels; the website covers an extensive breadth of subjects.

George Mason University Libraries developed an OER search engine which searches 15 of the best OER repositories with one search query.

The Association of American Medical Colleges facilitates the open exchange of peer-reviewed health education and assessment resources. Users must sign up for a free account in order to download materials.

The Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) is one of the oldest collections of OER. The collection is large and diverse.

MIT was among the pioneers of OER, creating their OpenCourseWare project more than 15 years ago. It remains among the most popular repositories for OER.

The National Science Digital Library provides high quality online educational resources for teaching and learning, with current emphasis on the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines—both formal and informal, institutional and individual, in local, state, national, and international educational settings.

The OAPEN Library contains freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of humanities and social sciences.

"Openly Available Sources Integrated Search (OASIS) is a search tool that aims to make the discovery of open content easier. OASIS currently searches open content from 80 different sources and contains 331,461 records."

This is a large collection of various OER managed by the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education. The content includes textbooks, sldeshows, documents, and other relevant materials.

Developed and curated by faculty from many Ohio institutions, this collection of course material for high enrollment courses is TAG aligned.

PhET provides fun, free, interactive, research-based science and mathematics simulations. PhET extensively tests and evaluates each simulation to ensure educational effectiveness. Simulations are written in Java, Flash or HTML5, and can be run online or downloaded to your computer. All simulations are under a Creative Commons Attribution license.

Project Gutenberg offers over 54,000 free eBooks: choose among free epub books, free kindle books, download them or read them online. You will find the world's great literature here, especially older works for which copyright has expired.

The Public Domain Review is an online journal and not-for-profit project dedicated to the exploration of curious and compelling works from the history of art, literature, and ideas.

PLOS publishes a suite of peer-reviewed Open Access journals featuring quality research, expert commentary and critical analysis across all areas of science and medicine. All PLOS content is freely available for the public to distribute, reuse and remix. Just make sure appropriate attribution or credit is indicated.

PMC is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine. Some, but not all, articles have open access.

Saylor Academy is a nonprofit organization offering free and open courses in a wide variety of disciplines.

The US Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) program has created a free and open online library called SkillsCommons containing free and open learning materials and program support materials for job-driven workforce development.
