Library instruction serves as a foundation for students' future academic research and lifelong information literacy skills.
In the short term, instruction introduces students to the college's library staff and services, encouraging student engagement. Data from the college's Office of Institutional Effectiveness shows that Columbus State students who work with reference librarians have significantly higher student success and completion rates, and are much less likely to withdraw from the college.
This valuable collaboration between faculty and librarians can be delivered in person at any campus or RLC, or virtually in a variety of formats.
Request instruction at any time by sending an email to: refdesk@cscc.edu or using the online request form. We are happy to design a session customized to the needs of your students. For more information contact Sharon Richter, Reference & Instruction Supervisor for Columbus Campus and all RLCs or Kristine Kinzer, Library Coordinator for the Delaware Campus.
