The American Anthropological Association is the world’s largest association for professional anthropologists, with more than 10,000 members. Based in Washington, DC, the Association was founded in 1902, and covers all four main fields of anthropology (cultural anthropology, biological/physical anthropology, archaeology, and linguistic anthropology).

The American Folklife Center provides online access to selected portions of the Library of Congress collections.

The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) was enacted on November 16, 1990, to address the rights of lineal descendants, Indian tribes, and Native Hawaiian organizations to Native American cultural items, including human remains, funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony.

It is the public interface the Autry Museum's ongoing digitization program, which seeks to digitize our entire collections. Collections Online currently includes records and images for over 50,000 items.
