Banned Books: Banned Books Week 2025

Resources on banned/challenged books and intellectual freedom.

Wide rectangular graphic with a watercolor depiction of the U.S.A. flag as the background. A transparent white square in the center contains the following text: "Celebrate your freedom to read! / Books • Crafts • Raffle / Monday, October 6th / 10:00 AM-1:00 PM / Library Multimedia Studio." The logos for the Columbus State Library and Banned Books Week are at the bottom left and right of the white rectangle.

Join the Columbus State Library as we observe Banned Books Week! Our locations will feature displays of banned or challenged books for you to check out, plus free buttons, stickers, and bookmarks. You can join us in the Library's Multimedia Studio on Monday, October 6th from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM to make personalized notebooks, check out banned books, and pick up some freebies while you learn about book bans and challenges in the United States.

This year’s celebration also includes a prize raffle! First prize is a $25 Amazon gift card, and two runners-up will each receive a $10 Amazon gift card. Students may enter in person or through our online entry form (link active October 5-11 only). This raffle is open to all Columbus State students, including CCP students and distance learners. One entry per person, please!
