New Library System: Alma Digital

Information about the Columbus State Library's migration to a new library system (Ex Libris Alma)

Institutional Repository

An institutional repository (IR) showcases the intellectual, creative, and research activities of an institution's faculty, administrators, staff, and students. As our new IR, Alma Digital provides the library with the infrastructure needed to manage Columbus State's scholarly communications and research data. The library now has the ability to collect, digitize, preserve, organize, and share research assets in Alma Digital, which will allow our community and even researchers at other institutions to access knowledge that reflects Columbus State's mission, vision, values, and pillars.

Faculty might be familiar with scholarly commons, a type of IR that gathers, indexes, and disseminates scholarly content with emphasis on accessibility and discoverability. The library is excited to promote faculty excellence and expertise through Alma Digital. We are in the process of developing IR guidelines and will shortly ask for your published and unpublished contributions, such as

  • conference presentations
  • conference posters
  • scholarly articles
  • Columbus State publications
  • white papers
  • workshops
  • lectures
  • reports
  • working papers
  • reviews
  • open access publications
  • media

Alma Digital encourages academic departments to highlight their programs. Faculty may also consider how Alma Digital can highlight student projects, research essays, and creative work.
