The implementation will proceed in four phases: Onboarding; Vanguard; Main Implementation; and Post Implementation. We are currently in the "Build" stage of the main migration.
On March 28, there will be a technical freeze of Sierra, the library's current system. During this freeze, the library will not be able to order or catalog new materials or update any course reserve records.
For faculty who require new physical materials or streaming licensing, please contact Reference & Instruction Supervisor Sharon Richter (srichter1@cscc.edu) by March 21. For faculty who would like to place materials on course reserve, please contact Circulation Librarian Julie Dulaney (jdulaney@cscc.edu) before March 28.
Faculty that rely on OhioLINK resource sharing must make all requests before May 23, 2025, as inter-OhioLINK borrowing will not be available again until the end of June 2025. While that service is unavailable, please work with your librarians (refdesk@cscc.edu) to find alternatives that will fulfill your needs for teaching and research. You can also make interlibrary loan requests. Contact Circulation Librarian Julie Dulaney (jdulaney@cscc.edu) for ILL assistance.
You will still be able to check out materials from the Columbus State Library's collection.
OhioLINK borrowing will resume mid-June. Note: SearchOhio borrowing will remain unavailable until the Fall 25 Semester.
The scheduled go live for Alma and Primo VE is on track for June 11 with Alma Digital and OhioLINK lending/borrowing (Rapido) soon to follow. In late 2025 and early 2026, we will roll out other applications as part of the same system package, including one that links the library to Blackboard to manage course reading lists.
Stay tuned for workshops and training on the new system!
