Circulation Staff at the Columbus State Library are happy to assist library users in obtaining materials, reserving study spaces, and navigating the Library. Circulation services are available at all times when the library is open.

Checking Out Materials

Materials are checked out at the circulation desk on level 1 of the library in Columbus Hall (CO).

You must be a currently registered student or current employee of the college. Present a Columbus State Community College I.D. card or other valid form of picture I.D. such as a state driver's license, state I.D. card, passport, etc., at the circulation desk each time materials are borrowed.

You can check out a total of 50 items at a time (books and/or audio-visual).

These are the standard loan periods for materials borrowed from the Columbus State Library, OhioLINK and SearchOhio. Faculty and staff often enjoy extended loan periods for Columbus State items. Loan periods for items with special status may differ, such as course reserves.

Columbus State Community College is a member of OhioLINK, a state wide consortium of 121 private and public libraries at universities and colleges in the state of Ohio. CSCC students, faculty, and staff may request items from these institutions from OhioLINK, which will deliver those items to CSCC.

Columbus State Community College has partnered with SearchOhio to provide access to materials from forty public libraries in the state of Ohio, including CML. Items can be searched and requested at the SearchOhio catalog.

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service that allows current students, faculty and staff at Columbus State to borrow books from other library systems when said item could not be found in our library's collection, OhioLINK, or SearchOhio. Please fill out the ILL Request Form, or ask for a paper form from any library service desk.

If you have any other ILL questions, please contact Julie Dulaney (jdulaney@cscc.edu) at 614-287-2267
